Yes, I'm still on the fruit kick. But it makes sense to me that I would love to paint them so much because I also love to eat fruit and enjoy fruit and yogurt almost every morning for breakfast. As I've mentioned before, I have even bought fruit (and veggies) because I thought I would like to do a painting of them.
In this painting, the two pears, a red and a d'anjou, are just hanging out on my counter, waiting to be cut up into a fruit salad. Yum!
I'm not just talking about eating them but I love painting them, also. I have painted several now and the latest ones I've painted are these 5"x7" unframed pieces. Let me know what you think.
As my husband, Jim, says, everyone should own an original piece of art. And what better place to have it then where we spend a significant amount of time, in the kitchen! The small size will surely find a place on a wall or on a shelf (mini easels are included).
The price: $45 each!!!!
With June just beginning it is time to start working on some new paintings. The Lakes Region Art Assoc, of which I am a member, has a summer awards show and I want to have a couple of new pieces for it. I have also been working on a couple of small oils, still lifes, that I will probably display at one of the galleries where I am now showing my artwork. This is one of the pieces, apple/mango/strawberry, aka, applgoberry. I really enjoy painting still lifes like this 4"x4" gallery-wrapped piece. I think my fruit and veggie still lifes make great pieces for your kitchen walls.
This is not my most productive painting time of the year. It is just a bit too chilly in my studio and I would have to really pump up the heat if I wanted to stay up there and work. But I was working on a piece, small though it is, when I was gallery sitting at the LRAA Gallery at the Tanger Outlets in Tilton, NH.
Although it is not quite finished, I thought I would show it here. Just a bit more to do here and there and it should be ready for the gallery, either the LRAA Gallery or at the VynnArt Gallery in Meredith, NH, the two galleries where I am currently showing my artwork. The price is the same as my other 6x6 gallery-wrapped paintings, $80.
I am excited to share my news about showing my artwork at the VynnArt Gallery in Meredith, NH! Meredith is a unique town on Lake Winnipesaukee and a travel destination for many people during the busy summer months. If you get a chnace, stop in to say 'Hi' to Vynnie and check out my artwork. I have prints and originals available for sale. Vynnie also has a display of my "Eddie Easel and the Case of the Missing Green" books autographed and available for purchase!
VynnArt Gallery is located at 30 Main St., Meredith, NH
(Here is my display for the next couple of months.)
