Art and a Story

Sum...Sum...Summertime!

It's here! And now that it's here, it is feeling a little bit more like early Fall or late Spring with temps in the 50's and 60's overnight and into the 70's by day. But that's fine with me, I would love a cool summer, as long as it is sunny!

It has been several years since we planted a garden but we decided to have one this year. We have a perfect location with lots of sun for a garden. But we decided to start small and only put in a few items. The peas died immediately. The two tomato plants are doing well as are the onions, which we planted from ones I had in the house that were starting to grow in the onion bin. A few lettuces, a couple of pepper plants, and a basil plant rounds out our garden this year.

I do remember the year we planted cabbages and got a few good-looking specimens for our efforts. They also gave me a few quality photos to use for paintings. This miniature, athough sold, is still one of my favorites.
