At this time of year when I've just finished up a novel (and am in the final stages of editing, getting it ready for the printers), I'm really missing my painting. A friend I used to visit nearly once a week, especially during the spring/summer/fall months, is preoccurpied with caring for a failing husband so she isn't available at all anymore. Which means, I need to find my own time to get up into my studio and paint. With all the art supplies I have that are just waiting to be painted on, I really need to take time away from everything and just paint.
I always have projects that I want to work on so looking for a subject shouldn't be that difficult. One I started awhile ago keeps nagging me to go up to my studio and continue working on it. All I have to do is take the time away from some of the daily household tasks that eat away at my time. And then of course, there is my writing. But if I'm not feeling the inspiration, that is the perfect time to paint.
Here is one of my favorite visitors to our feeders, the Chickadee. Like us, they live here year round. Always a favorite to see on our feeders.
