When I look at all the paintings I made over the years, there are a few that I wonder, why didn't it sell? Many of the ones I was most proud of have sold. But there are a few that, despite the beautiful composition and subject, just never did appeal to anyone enough for them to purchase it.
With that said, I should also mention that my art work is not currently hanging in anyone's gallery. It is all in storage in my studio. I used to do outside art fairs, also, but haven't done any of those for several years now. It was always far more work and just not worth the effort. I do not miss those at all.
But I would like to have my artwork in a gallery or two. I know one I could possibly hang my art in, but I was in that gallery when they first opened and you have to commit to sitting at the gallery a few days a month. Also, one of my mini paintings was stolen and that upset me. I was in another gallery but the friend who has this gallery split it with two other artist/gallery owners and I just haven't approached them about having my art work in there now.
Also, I'm spending a lot of time on my writing now. If I find any time to paint it will most likely be to work on illustrations for a couple of fables I've written. And of course, anyone can buy my artwork directly from my website.
The holidays are upon us. An original piece of artwork would make a fine gift! I also have a couple of prints for sale. And don't forget my miniatures - affordable and you can put them anywhere (mini easels to go with the miniatures are also available for sale).
